
(SEPT 4) HOUSTON, TX – NALCAB Director Noel Poyo presented testimony to the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations at a field hearing today entitled, “Examining Discrimination and Other Barriers to Consumer Credit, Homeownership, and Financial Inclusion in Texas.”
Drawing upon the expertise of NALCAB’s work in the field, Noel’s testimony stresses that the future strength and competitiveness of the US relies on achieving far broader financial inclusion in our economy. He advocates local and culturally-relevant solutions with a focus on the role of CDFIs as well as minority-owned banks in bridging the disparity in access to capital. View hearing HERE.
