Annual Advocacy Day

Each spring while congressional committees are working on the budget for the upcoming fiscal year, NALCAB members from all over the country convene in Washington, DC for NALCAB’s Annual Congressional Advocacy Day. On this day we advocate for federal policies that make a meaningful difference in the lives of Latinos and LMI communities with particular emphasis on federal appropriations. NALCAB members communicate to members of Congress the importance of robust federal funding to fuel key community and economic development programs that support Latino economic advancement including;

  • U.S. Housing and Urban Development’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME and SHOP programs
  • The U.S. Small Business Administration’s PRIME, Microloan programs and Women’s Business Centers
  • The Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund
  • The Community and Economic Development Program (CED) Disaster Recovery
  • U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Programs
