NALCAB Members

Thursday June 22, the U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on two immigration bills-H.R. 4760, Securing America’s Future Act, by Representative Goodlatte (which is largely expected to fail) and H.R.6136, The Border Security and Immigration Reform Act otherwise known as “the compromise bill.” H.R.6136, has been gaining traction. President Trump supports the bill, and his approval has given confidence to Congressional leadership.

The Border Security and Immigration Reform Act H.R.6136 will stifle the prosperity of Latino communities. It doesn’t provide a permanent solution for Dreamers, it doesn’t resolve the issue of family separation the Administration created, and it legitimizes the Attorney General’s attempt to block asylum seekers. The bill simply embodies anti-immigrant rhetoric.

The time to act is now, Contact your Member of Congress and urge a NO vote

When calling:

  • Introduce yourself as a constituent.
  • Say: “Please vote NO on Border Security and Immigration Reform Act, H.R.6136.
  • Tell them: “Congress must stop politicizing this issue and provide comprehensive immigration reform that includes a permanent solution to DACA and emboldens immigrant families and minority communities.”   Vote NO on H.R. 6136

Sincerely,

NALCAB Policy Team
