Rafaela Martinez
As Program Specialist for the Small Business Development team, Rafaela Martinez manages grant programs designed to build assets in Latino communities nationwide. Her work focuses on enhancing local communities through initiatives that support entrepreneurship, small business development, affordable housing, and financial capability.
Originally from Quito, Ecuador, Rafaela holds a double Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Affairs from Trinity University, where she graduated magna cum laude. With a concentration in Diplomacy, Security, War, and Peace Studies and a minor in Sociology, Rafaela developed a deep understanding of inclusive leadership and cross-cultural communication. Rafaela’s professional experience includes internships with Ecuador’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Ecuador in Washington DC, where she honed her strategic problem-solving and cultural awareness. Throughout college, she also played a pivotal role in organizing programs that promoted diversity, inclusion, and collaboration within student and community organizations.
