Luissa Sanchez serves as NALCAB’s Training & Leadership Development Specialist, supporting the Training & Leadership Development team with data gathering, processes and event planning.
Previously, she served in Operations & Administration at NALCAB. Additional work experience includes the position of Office Manager for an immigration law firm where she oversaw case management and operations. As of February 2021, Luissa serves as an ambassador for CAIR – Council on American Islamic Relations for the area of San Antonio, a Muslim civil rights, non profit, advocacy group.
She is certified in Diversity & Inclusion, receiving her certification from Stanford University Graduate School of Business in Leverage Diversity & Inclusion for Organizational Excellence. Her education includes coursework in Criminal Justice from Kaplan University. She is fluent in Spanish and has intermediate knowledge of Moroccan Arabic (Darija). Luissa is an alumna of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s Latina Leadership Institute Program (Class of 2023) and currently serves on the Program’s Steering Committee.
Luissa is also a small business owner and runs Amor Halal Mexicana which offers authentic Mexican food using locally-grown and sourced ingredients from other BIPOC small businesses in the San Antonio area.
