As Small Business Program Specialist, April De Mendonca coordinates NALCAB’s national program to support small business-serving nonprofits through grantmaking, technical assistance, and training. April also supports NALCAB’s initiatives related to strengthening Community Development Financial Institutions, affordable housing, and financial capability in Latino communities.

Prior to joining NALCAB, April worked for the State of Texas conducting investigations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of vulnerable individuals throughout the state. April holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). She will receive her Master of Science in Criminology in May 2023 from UTSA and is a member of the Alpha Phi Sigma  Criminal Justice Honors Society.
