Johany Garcia is the Federal Senior Program Manager for the Rural Capacity Building (RCB) Program. In this role, she oversees and coordinates the efficient delivery of an integrated program of grant-making, technical assistance and training for nonprofit organizations to support, strengthen and expand their asset building programs in rural areas. Previously, Johany worked in NALCAB’s Small Business Program area.

Johany is from Aibonito, Puerto Rico and is fluent bilingual in English and Spanish. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a focus in Education from St. Edward’s University and an MPA from St. Mary’s University. Prior to joining NALCAB, Johany worked as a Program Manager for a local nonprofit called First Tee Greater San Antonio that teaches children aged 5-18 life skills through the game of golf – she herself was an NCAA Division 2 golfer in college.
