As Federal Program Specialist, Eman Saleh broadly supports the programs team with federal projects, subgrantee lead and budget support. Born and raised in Houston, Eman is a recent college graduate from Texas State University. She received her Bachelor of Science in Geography Urban and Regional Planning with a minor in Political Science and found her passion to be in Community Development.
Eman interned for the City of San Marcos Planning Department Housing and Community Development services learning about the CDBG program that helps benefit the residents of San Marcos. During her internship in San Marcos, the Disaster Recovery grant was being used to reconstruct single family homes. She canvased through the neighborhoods where the grant would apply to give notices about application deadlines and documented the progress of rebuilding homes. Interning for the CDBG program allowed her to understand the impact this federal grant has through city governments and subrecipients to protect and rebuild their communities in need. After one successful year at the City of San Marcos, Eman interned for the City of Kyle Planning Department where she helped complete a portion of Kyle’s Comprehensive Plan focusing on Parks and Recreation needs around the city. Working with a small group to complete this project, she visited parks in Kyle and researched comparison cities as well as national parks standards for the comprehensive plan.
