Sharon Garcia is a seasoned marketing and communications professional with extensive experience in tourism, the arts, economic development, philanthropy and international relations. As NALCAB’s Director of Communications & Membership, she oversees the activities of the Communications and Membership departments and is responsible for all marketing and communications strategies, brand identity, digital media platforms, membership engagement and recruitment, and the promotion of NALCAB’s nationwide programs and initiatives.

Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Sharon graduated from the the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Arts in International Policy Studies.

With expertise in community engagement, strategic planning and visual design, Sharon has held leadership roles with the City of San Antonio, the Briscoe Western Art Museum, the San Antonio Area Foundation, the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and Dublin & Associates.

She has served on the boards of the San Antonio Council for International Visitors and Cressie Animal Refuge and Enrichment (CARE), and as an Arts Funding Panelist for the City of San Antonio Department of Arts & Culture. Sharon is a graduate of the HOLT Values-Based Leadership™ Fellows Program (Class of 2023-24) through the San Antonio Area Foundation and an alum of the Alexander Briseño Leadership Development Program sponsored by the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
