Inclusive Action for the City Helps LA Street Vendor Access Capital to Grow His Business Support

When Angel Archuleta first approached Inclusive Action for support with his small business, he was faced with obstacles that seemed insurmountable, such as poor credit due to past-due predatory loans and his status as a formerly incarcerated individual.

Despite his circumstances, Angel continued to fight for his small business dream to support his family.  His dream took off when he first met with Los Angeles, CA community development organization Inclusive Action for the City. Through Inclusive Action, Angel was able to secure two Raices loans to help set his plans on track. He used the first loan to purchase a new fabric printer and other necessary inventory helping him to officially launch his business as a street vendor in LA.

With the second loan ($1,200), Angel purchased a laptop and screen-printing machine to help him design & produce clothing more efficiently. Since receiving these loans & support from Inclusive Action, Angel’s total business revenue has increased by 46% and his credit score has increased from 550 to 695. Now that he has been able to rebuild his credit and access the capital he needs to invest in his business, Angel continues successfully designing and selling his clothing as a second-generation street vendor in South Central Los Angeles.
