NALCAB Brings Hundreds of Community Economic Development Leaders to San Antonio for 2026 National Conference

“Juntos en la Lucha: Activating Our Power” convenes practitioners, funders, and policymakers September 15–17, coinciding with a first look at NALCAB’s expanded San Antonio home

SAN ANTONIO — September 10, 2026 — NALCAB (National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders) will host its 2026 National Conference, Juntos en la Lucha: Activating Our Power, September 15–17 at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio. The three-day convening returns to the city where NALCAB was founded more than two decades ago and is expected to draw hundreds of nonprofit practitioners, CDFI leaders, funders, and public-sector allies from across the country.

This year’s theme reflects the moment facing the community development field: a call for steady leadership, shared resolve, and a renewed focus on the work community-based organizations carry out every day on behalf of Latino and low-to-moderate income communities nationwide.

“Our theme this year is Juntos en la Lucha, and it reflects the collective strength of our network. Latino communities generate $4.4 trillion in economic activity, but the investment flowing back into those neighborhoods has not kept pace. Our members are closing that gap for the families, homebuyers, and small business owners they work with, and three days together is how they compare what is working and take it home.” said Marla Bilonick, President & CEO of NALCAB.

Over three days, attendees will take part in sessions on small business development, affordable housing, access to capital, and nonprofit management, drawing on real-world examples from NALCAB’s network of 200+ member organizations. Conference highlights include:

  • A sneak peek of NALCAB’s expanded San Antonio home — a new downtown space reflecting the organization’s growing national footprint and renewed roots in the city where it began.
  • The small business Mercadito, showcasing entrepreneurs supported by NALCAB’s network.
  • Funder matchmaking sessions, connecting community-based organizations with capital partners.
  • ¡Visitando el Barrio!, a guided tour of community-driven development across San Antonio neighborhoods.

NALCAB’s network reaches more than 3 million people each year across all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. In 2025, NALCAB borrowers originated more than 250,000 small business loans totaling $245 million.

Members of the media interested in attending, requesting interviews, or arranging a tour of NALCAB’s new San Antonio home during the conference should contact Nicole Barrera | [email protected] | 210-378-2610
