Associate Director of Lending

Melissa Rodriguez

Melissa leads NALCAB’s national investment portfolio, supporting more than 200 nonprofit organizations serving low- to moderate-income communities across the United States. In her role as Associate Director of Lending, she manages all of NALCAB’s lending portfolios, including the NALCAB's CDFI Intermediary portfolio supporting small business lenders, affordable housing and community facilities projects, NALCAB’s Small Business Loan Guarantee portfolio, and Acceso's Small Business Loan Participations.

She is responsible for identifying and managing portfolio risks, implementing mitigation strategies, and maintaining risk ratings across all investments. Melissa also works closely with the lending team to develop and implement new strategies that strengthen portfolio performance and advance NALCAB’s mission.

Prior to joining NALCAB, Melissa held roles focused on advancing economic opportunity, including Loan Officer, Financial Coach, and Small Business Development. Her career has consistently centered on empowering individuals and organizations to thrive and build long-term financial stability.

Originally from Guayaquil, Ecuador, Melissa began her career in International Business before immigrating to the United States in 2017. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Huntingdon College and has earned certifications in nonprofit management and leadership. Melissa has been deeply committed to community service and advocacy throughout her personal and professional journey.
