Sr. Portfolio & Lending Manager
As Senior Portfolio & Lending Manager, Melissa leads NALCAB’s investment portfolio supporting 200+ nonprofit organizations serving low to moderate income communities nationwide. As part of this role, she identifies and manages portfolio risks, implements mitigation strategies, and maintains risk ratings for all investments. Melissa also manages NALCAB’s Loan Participation Program where her responsibilities encompass a comprehensive analysis of member financial statements, loan portfolios, lending policies and procedures, and strategies to determine the degree of risk involved in purchasing new loan proposals.
Melissa is originally from Guayaquil, Ecuador, where she pursued a career in International Business before migrating to the United States in 2017. During her high school years in Ecuador, she was actively involved in community service, a commitment she continued after arriving in the U.S. Motivated by a passion for advocating on behalf of the Latino community and supporting long-term economic resilience, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Huntingdon College. Melissa has since served as a Bilingual Immigration Paralegal, Bilingual Financial Coach, and Small Business Loan Officer, with a focus on empowering individuals and organizations to grow, thrive, and build stability through economic opportunity.
