As a Senior Manager of Lending & Asset Management, Melissa supports activities related to NALCAB’s Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) work, Rural Revolving Loan Fund (RLF), NALCAB’s Catalyst fund and other affordable housing and small business services.  Her work includes NALCAB’s property management activities, assisting with compliance of regulatory agencies and funders, monitoring trend analysis on portfolio performance and evaluating loan applications. Melissa also supports the organization’s programmatic work, project management, outcome reporting of loan funds and grants, and the development and presentation of content for national training events and webinars.

Previously, Melissa worked as a graduate assistant at the Center for Urban and Regional Planning Research, a part of the College of Architecture, Construction and Planning at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). In her role as a graduate assistant, Melissa managed GIS mapping and created 3D visuals to help address ongoing planning concerns in Texas cities. She also interned for the City of Cibolo, Texas, in the Planning & Engineering Department where she assisted the City Planner.

Melissa is fluent in English and Spanish and holds a bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from UTSA with a specialization in Housing and Sustainable Community Development.
